This new mom wanted to do 3 different looks for her maternity photoshoot and this concept was definitely my favorite. I’ve always wanted to do this type of maternity photoshoot because there’s something about black and white photos that just makes pictures even more beautiful.

Before booking, we had a little consultation of what exactly it was that she wanted for her maternity photoshoot. She wanted to do a nude maternity shoot and to make her look like a silhouette, but also, not too much of a silhouette to where you couldn’t tell it’s her. She also sent a few images of her vision and I knew immediately that I wanted to shoot this! To help her vision, I created a Pinterest mood board so that she could see what type of poses to do. I really like to do this because a lot of the time, client’s do not know how to pose in front of the camera, they may be camera shy and it might be their first time even doing a photoshoot.

Doing this not only helps them see how they should pose, but it also helps me as well because it shows the client that I understand the vision they are going for. In addition to that, I could always go back to the exact Pinterest board and show the client how to pose or even just to refer back to something when I draw a blank on how else to pose the client.
