I typically don’t do beauty photoshoots, but I was scrolling on Pinterest and was inspired. I am not sure what made me choose orchids as my choice of flowers, but I’m glad I did! Now, I can’t see myself using any other flower(s), because the orchids just fit.
I made the head piece by using a black head band, orchid flowers, floral wire and a hot glue gun. I cut the stems and arranged them one by one onto the headband to see where I’d want it. Once I liked the placement, I hot glue’d them onto the headband. To get the flowers that are higher up, I wrapped the wire around the headband and hot glued it to the bottom of it. When I got my desired wire length, I cut it and wrapped it around the stem of the flower. Here’s a video on how I did it, in full.
Due to some electricity issues with the studio and the time it took to do this beautiful makeup, we only had 30 minutes left in studio time. Also, the light set up I envisioned was not working so I had to think of something else on the spot.
In the end, the result came out better than I had imagined.
